TBT: My great Grandmother : Professional Photographer Plymouth South Shore

My great grandmother was a wonderful woman.  She was my great grandfather's second wife.  They were long time companions and married after my grandparents were married.  She was the only mother my grandmother ever knew and the only great grandparent I ever knew.  She was there for my grandmother as a part of their household long before she married into the family.  A true testament, some people are our quiet heroes. Wonderful people that make our lives better just for being there every day.  It seems so long ago since I saw my great grandmother.  I was 13 when she passed.  And yet, I can remember so clearly the last time I went to visit her and still have that little pang of sadness and longing to see her again. TBT: Love my cousins: Professional Photographer South Shore Plymouth

I love sorting through and finding old photos of me and my family.  I also love restoring them for other people.  This is a great picture of me, my sister, and my cousins Adam and Jennie.  It reminds me of the fun time we used to have spending part of the summer in PA with them.  Unfortunately age has not been kind to the corners of this photo but lucky for me I know how to fix that!  I hope you are enjoying throwback thursday as much as I am! professional Photographer, Plymouth, South Shore, Family Photos, Family Photos, Portraits, Throwback Thursday, Photo Restoration

Professional Photographer Plymouth South Shore: TBT: My Dad #ThrowbackThursday

So anyone who knows me knows that I have a very tight family.  My father is one of the closest people to me.  I could always count on him to be there for me to help in any way and he was always present.  One of my favorite memories growing up was sitting with my father at night and having him read to us.  Not only did that help to instill a love of reading that is strong to this day but it also gave me something special to remember when he spent much of his time commuting to and from Boston each day. Tomorrow my father will be retiring and moving on to another chapter in his life.  It's amazing how quickly time passes.  So today I want to wish my father well and celebrate the man that he is and how lucky I am to have him for my Dad!

Plymouth South Shore Professional Photographer: Throwback Thursday: Before and After Family Photos

So we all have those family photos that are great and we would like to keep but they degrade over time.  This is one of my favorite photos of my family but it is yellow and starting to show signs of wear.  You can see though that there is a lot that I can do with Photoshop to make photos like that better.  What about choosing a selection of family photos and create a new album of digital images for an anniversary or a birthday gift.  That would truly be something that would be remembered! Plymouth South Shore Professional Photographer: Throwback Thursday: My grandmother

So this week is a week for tributes I guess.  I am making this throwback Thursday post about my grandmother.  She was really the linchpin that held together the family.  She was one of the most giving and most outspoken women that I knew.  She passed in 2012 and is still greatly missed.  Even at 93 we would talk every day and she was sharp as a tack.  I used to call her in the middle of the night and on my way home from work just when I wanted someone to talk to.  She was a seamstress by trade, she took care of her family with love and grace and lots of Italian cooking.  This was her photo on her wedding day.  I restored the image and I am posting the before and after of the restoration.  I miss her everyday and I love her with all my heart!
